Oskar (8), Lilli (13) and their mother are from Chechnya and have lived in Austria for six years when the authorities decide to deport them. After a failed suicide attempt, the mother is sent to a home for the mentally ill and the deportation is delayed. Oskar and Lilli, who are sent to different foster families, meet up in secret. The children’s hope that they will be reunited with their mother is nourished by their love for each other and challenges all bureaucratic obstacles with passion and poetry.
