Details
Jean-Pierre Werner, a country doctor who has lived his life devoted to his job, finds out he is suffering from an inoperable brain tumor. His doctor advises him to retire and rest. Soon thereafter, a lady doctor from the city arrives to help him with his practice, but the arrangement unsettles Jean-Pierre, who considers himself indispensable.

Filmmaker Thomas Lilti is also a doctor and began to do short movies at the same time he studied medicine. Hippocrates was a French Box Office Hit in 2016. French actor François Cluzet, is known for critically acclaimed and award-winning French films such as The Intouchables (2011), Tell No One (2006) and French Kiss (1995).

Director's Statement
"Since I am a doctor it’s a world I know particularly well so I’m able to give a sense of detail, depict situations and characters that are credible and authentic. It provides me with a rich canvas to tell stories.
... I wanted the film to give a perspective on medicine from both genders, and it was important for me to have a female character who can be both strong and gentle. Denicourt has shot with the greatest filmmakers and I was lucky to cast her for a small but significant role in “Hippocrates.” This film, “Irreplaceable,” gave me the opportunity to give her a meatier role."
