Trivia
"We were working on the rough cut with my editor, Yurii Reznichenko when the war began, and obviously, we stopped. I fled the country, and Yurii stayed. With the help of people in three different countries, producer Natalia Libet managed to get a copy of the material to Amsterdam,” Buryachkova said. “For a few months, it felt like there was no solid reason to keep working. We were stressed, and nothing mattered apart from what was happening in our lives and our country. But a bit later, I thought it was important not to only talk about war now. It’s important to talk about the people fighting this war, volunteering, or doing any possible good thing for freedom. It’s essential to show which past shaped them. And this was a reason to go back to this work.”

Director's Statement
“
This film is a love song for the lost teenagers of the late 1990s, who grew up in the ruins of the Soviet regime and were told the rule: if no one loves you, you won’t survive. Seeking love and validation in someone else’s eyes, we lived by compromising abuse and injustice to get more attention.
