When the body of art conservator Lukas is found floating in the Canale dei Marani in Venice, Detective Santo wants to quickly put the case to rest. He does not believe it was foul play. But Anna, Lukas’ widow and mother of their 11-year-old son, vehemently disagrees. This was no accident! The last piece Lukas worked on, Botticelli’s hauntingly beautiful “Ideal Portrait of a Lady”, has vanished – and Lukas made a copy. Did he get involved with art robbers? Together with Rafael, Lukas’ best friend, Anna sets out to find the painting. Both are sure: If they find the work of art, they can also find who is responsible for Lukas’ death…but they have set their sight on the missing Botticelli as well.

Venice is of course uniquely beautiful - but as a film location for a television crew it was a challenge, Höfels recalls. She knows what she's talking about. “The equipment, which is often heavy, has to be transported by boat. You are always dependent on the weather conditions, ”reported the 40-year-old in an interview with the German Press Agency about the shooting last autumn.
