Director's Statement

"The story comes from a part of my childhood that I never thought I'd want to put on display. But as I grew up, I felt the need to open up to spark conversations...and give viewers a glimpse into the underbelly of Singapore, which is often swept under the rug - and what better way to do this than through a short film?

The two characters in the film are the two voices in my head when my father was involved with the loan shark syndicate in Singapore. On one hand, I despised the sight of my dad, but on the other, I was trying to understand why he did what he did. Written from a minority’s point of view, I wanted to give a very raw and realistic take on the characters, and their inner development as they learn more about themselves and each other over the span of one night."
