The short film “Treasure” is an experimental project in which I want to focus on an unexplored topic in Vietnam’s cinema movement.

Featuring a time loop and human psychological complexity, “Treasure” was filmed entirely at the site of the real mountains and caves stretching across two provinces located in Vietnam’s Central Highlands - Dak Nong and Dak Lak. Setting my story in a mysterious cave system with mind-bending time travel rules, the film highlights the underlying message about the transformation and alienation of human behaviour under extremely harsh conditions.

“Treasure” is my manifesto for the truth I believe: This person’s evil is both the cause and the result of the other’s evil. A vicious cycle of evil always recurs.
