Details
The film is a story about Páo. He is forced into marriage at 14 due to the Hmong’s underage marriage tradition. Turning 18, he meets Di, a young tourist, and falls in love for the first time. Páo carries plums from his village into town, Pao hesitates but then comes to find Di. During the whole day of dating with Di, he always finds himself lost between the town and the village: when Di plays a vinyl record, he hears the sound of Khen pipes; when he takes Di out, he sees his wife and children at home. Although he likes Di, he does not dare to take one more step. At the end of that day, Pao gets on a bus with Di to go to the city. But all are just memories of Páo about Di, she had left since the last time they met. Páo was unable to express his feelings and make her stay. Finally, Pao returns to the village with his family, but the scenario of sitting in the car to come and find Di keeps playing in his mind.

[I was inspired to create this story when]... my friend, Phá, came to me and shared his personal and family life, as well as the customs of the Mông community and the challenges that Phá faced.
