The film revolves around the life of Rafa, a passionate lawyer-activist set on helping people facing home eviction and who put his commitment to lost causes before his family - wife Helena and stepson Raúl. Over the course of 24 dramatic hours, Rafa's story intertwines with those of Azucena (a retail cashier living with Manuel about to lose her home), and Teodora (an old woman who has lost her home in the wake of providing monetary guarantee to her son).

Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca wrote: “Underneath the multiplications is a drop of blood.” He was referring to the reality behind the statistics.In Spain there are 41,000 evictions a year, more than 100 a day. The film explores the impact of recession on the relationships between couples, parents, and children. And within that, the role that mothers play as providers of love and well-being within the family.
