The serious skateboarding accident of her daring son Jason (Jonas Dassler) is a turning point in the life of photographer Marlene (Anke Engelke). When it becomes clear how serious Jason's injuries are, only special rehabilitation in Switzerland can help. Marlene decides to drive her son there herself from Berlin across Germany. While Marlene has a clear route in mind, Jason does everything he can to convince his mother that life takes detours.
