Details

Nina Sokil is in her mid-30s and the merciless and self-centred host of a popular TV talk show in Kiev. She seems to have luck on her side. Nina's career is on a steep upward trajectory. She despises everyone and everything that gets in her way. When Nina is diagnosed with bone cancer, she persuades her doctor to keep her chemotherapy a secret. She does her utmost to keep everything under control and conceals the cancer from her husband and colleagues. Nina's career comes first: she continues to work hard − but the cancer catches up with her. The fictional story of Nina's struggle with fame and illness is inspired by the life of the Ukrainian TV presenter, actress and producer of the film Yanina Sokolova, who plummeted from the pinnacle of fame to a personal survival horror trip.
