About The Director

Mathias is an aspiring filmmaker who seeks to use moving images as a tool to convey dystopic and maturation themes in contemporary society. His recent film "Tin Can", won both the first prize and Audience Choice Awards at the Filet Short Film Competition 2018. His experimental films "STATE OF DOGma" and "Rabbit Hole" have also been chosen to be screened at the Alexandre Traunder Art Film Festival 2019.

Inspiration Behind The Story

"Rocketship" draws inspiration from filmmakers such as Abbas Kiarostami (Where Is the Friends Home?, 1987) and Edward Yang (Yi Yi, 2000), who both manage to capture the nuances of the everyday life.
