Trivia

Based on Kuessipan by Naomi Fontaine

“Kuessipan” is an Innu word meaning, “It’s your turn.” Fontaine decided it was the Innu people’s turn to tell their own story.

A film with non-professional Innu actors made a bigger box office than the hit American film "Joker" for a weekend in a cinema in Sept-Îles (province of Quebec, Canada), in the fall of 2019.

Most of the actors are from the Innu community Uashat-Maliotenam in Quebec (Canada), where part of the film was shot

'Kuessipan' reached the top 10 in the box office
